Metcash is Australia’s leading wholesale and marketing company specialising in Grocery, Fresh Produce, Liquor, hardware and automotive parts and accessories to Independent retailers. You will recognise such brands as IGA, The Bottle O, Mitre 10, Autobarn, & Campbell’s Cash & Carry to name a few. Metcash Logistics is the distribution arm of the business.

The Crestmead Mega Site is one of the largest single point distributions centres in the Southern Hemisphere and houses DC’s for Perishable, Groceries, Australian Liquor Marketing as well as ‘Split case’ distribution to the Convenience retailers and Container export. All on a site that is 1 km long from fence to fence with more than 17 acres of warehouse under roof (13 acres grocery and 4 acres perishables) and 600 staff across 2 shifts. You will see this fast paced DC in action, utilising a modern WMS for fully integrated stock movement and management from Goods In to Despatch. The DC’s racks are 10 metres high, using Hi Reach Forklifts for product

storage and pick face replenishment. Metcash also use some of the most modern ‘Voice Pick’ technology in all of the full case sections and a demonstration of what that sounds like to the assembler will be available.
